Modification for Commtel Com-214.
Gives AM reception on 137-174 MHz.

This mod for the Commtel 214 scanner will give
AM demodulation to bands: 137-144, 144-148 and 148-174
via a subminature SPDT switch.

(NOTE: All channels scanned or stored from bands
137 - 174 MHz are heard using AM demodulation.
This modification does not change
UHF i.e. 406 - 956 MHz bands.)

Just follow the info using the pictures and that's it. I'm sure people with the
diagrams & knowledge will work out how it's done.

A. Click the close up below to see and see where to cut the track
& connection details to 1 & 3 of the switch.

My diagram of the switch.
In my case a slide switch Such as this one.

Slide Switch - can usually be bought from local electronic component stores.

I will leave the mounting of the switch up to yourselves,
however I managed to conceal my switch under the back cover
by making a slit in the plastic, just above the power pack,
but below the hole in middle .

(Note this scanner is very similar to the Uniden Sportcat SC150)
